It was a beautiful tree. A weeping willow. It dominated our entire front yard. I beleive it was about 36 or 37 years old, only a couple of years youner than I am. A few weeks ago Peter discovered that it had a large crack down throughout the trunk. The danger was that there were hydro lines on 3 sides of the tree. If it came down it was almost certainly going to take a hydro line down, too. So down it had to come.

The aftermath. Our front yard looks so different without our shady willow. What I miss the most is the sound of the wind in her branches at night. :-(
